Paviors Lodge

The Lodge was founded in 1937 for the enjoyment of Freemasonry by members of the Worshipful Company of Paviors. It has grown to be one of the most vibrant and active parts of the Paviors community. Its members contribute to every aspect of the Company’s life and help to create connections with other Liveries. The Livery

Dating back to 1276, The Worshipful Company of Paviors is one of the City of London livery companies that evolved from medieval guilds and were responsible for the regulation of wage control, labour conditions and industry standards. Today, livery companies play a significant role in City life by providing charitable-giving and networking opportunities.  > MORE

Freemasonry comprises men and women concerned with moral and spiritual values. It instils a moral and ethical approach to life; it reinforces thoughtfulness for others, kindness in the community, honesty in business, courtesy in society and fairness in all things. > MORE

Did you know that women can be freemasons? Did you also know that there are in fact two separate Grand Lodges for women, both of which have been around for over 100 years? For this year's International Women's Day, we're highlighting a member of what was the Honourable Fraternity of Ancient Freemasons (HFAF), now known as Freemasonry for Women.Taken from an edition of the organisation's magazine 'The Ray' from the 1930's, Edith Elliott was a member of Ionic Lodge, No. 5 and is pictured in her Craft regalia, including apron, collar and gauntlet cuffs. She's wearing the jewel of the Inner Guard (despite what the caption suggests!) and you can also spot her Royal Arch Companion's jewel on the collar. You can find out more about the history of women's freemasonry on our blog >> museumfreemasonry.org.uk/blog/learn-about-freemasonry-women-and-freemasonry #IWD2024 #InternationalWomensDay #Freemasonry #FreemasonryForWomen #WomensFreemasonry #BritishHistory ...
